How we work
1. Site visit. We walk the project with you and tell you plainly what the work involves and what could go wrong.
2. Scope in writing. A plain description of the work, the exclusions and the assumptions, before any number appears.
3. Written proposal and contract. Every job is priced in a written proposal and a signed contract before work begins.
4. Schedule and sequence. Trades, materials and inspections are sequenced up front, so the work moves in an orderly way from the first day on site.
5. Where the job stands. We tell you where the job stands at each milestone, from the first day on site to final inspection.
6. Closeout. Final inspection and, where the building department issues one, the Certificate of Occupancy, with a complete record handed to you.
Need plans or engineering first? Design is done by licensed architects and engineers, not by us. We know a strong network of them across Southern California and can introduce you to the right one.
For lenders, investors and development firms
Projects with draw funding run on a schedule of values tied to each draw. We work from a written contract and scope, with written change orders and a closeout record at final inspection. EMC provides its own lien releases on California statutory forms with each draw request. Subcontractor and supplier releases are handled by agreement in the contract. Send us the lender's draw requirements before you sign and we will tell you plainly what we can meet.
